Making Sure The Person Who You Are Talking To Is What They Say?

It can be difficult to know for sure that the person who you are talking to is what they say they are. This is something that makes a lot of people wary of dating online or even going on first dates. It can be extremely nerve wracking to try to trust the person that you have just met when they tell you about themselves.

Too Good

If they sound too good to be true, then they probably are. Usually, if the person that you are talking to only happens to have unbelievably good things to say about themselves, then they are probably making a few of them up. Nobody is perfect and nobody is without flaws. If they don’t seem to have any, then they’re lying about something.

Listen to the details of their stories. Try not to give them the 3rd degree or show that you don’t believe them.  Instead, ask specific questions about the things that you are unsure about. If the details don’t add up, then they aren’t being honest. Just don’t try to accuse them right away or spend too much time on the details.

Trust your instinct. That is always the one thing that you will find is almost always right. If you don’t get a good feeling about a person and their story, then don’t be scared to question it. When you ignore your instinct you are only hurting yourself. The sooner that you recognize a problem, the easier it will be to fix.
